There are few things I remember from my days in early grade school. Third grade is a slight exception to that rule. My teacher that year was like a stern old grandpa who always had a story to tell. One morning he told us about how his regular trip for coffee in the morning was rudely interrupted. Following his normal routine, Mr. Sandt went into the cafeteria kitchen, poured a cup of coffee into a styrofoam cup, and began his trip down the halls back to the classroom. Once he sat down at his desk though he realized over three fourths of his coffee was missing. He had left a trail of coffee drops from the hole in the bottom of his cup. He looked at our class and just told us, “I could have let that ruin my day, but I didn’t. It’s all about the attitude you take away from those situations you don’t want to be in.”
James 1:2-4 -→ Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.
