Day 8: Around the corner

Isaiah 40:3-5  “A voice cries: ‘In the wilderness prepare the way of the LORD; make straight in the desert a highway for our God.  Every valley shall be lifted up, and every mountain and hill be made low; the uneven ground shall become level. And the rough places a plain.  And the glory of the LORD shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together, for the mouth of the LORD has spoken.’”

I’m sure that for most of us at the moment, Christmas break cannot come fast enough, and we’re thinking “Only one more week until we get to spend a long break at home!”  Preparing for finals is stressful and usually consumes our thoughts and our free time (if you had any in the first place) for days or even weeks before.  Our path seems rough, uneven, and possibly uncertain, but Christmas break is just around the corner, and all the worrying will not matter to us anymore.  When we live in the freedom that Christ offers us, our rough and uneven path seems pretty level, because we know that we don’t have to worry.
